Osla Jamwal-Fraser - Project Assistant

Osla Jamwal-Fraser was brought up on a croft on the west side of Shetland. In her youth, she spent many years working in hospitality and catering, and has been passionate about food and drink all her life.

For the past 17 years, she has been living and working in Italy, where she is a sommelier and a qualified translator, specialising in translation, content creation and language consultancy for companies and publishers in the food and wine sector. She has translated and adapted a range of Italian cookery books for both the UK and the US markets and works with wineries to adapt their advertising material for foreign markets, to prepare staff to welcome English speaking visitors and to sell their products abroad.

As a sommelier, she has a good knowledge of the wine appellation and certification systems in Italy and Europe. She also has a keen interest in the Slow Food Movement, EU provenance and quality labelling, and how producers can make best use of certification systems to work together, promote a sustainable future for the isles and give added value to the fantastic variety of produce available in Shetland.

Sheila Keith - Director

Having worked in economic development for 15 years Sheila has a keen interest in Shetland’s economy and its development.  Naturally, she now works for Shetland Fishermen representing the majority of fishermen in Shetland.  With the fish catching sector worth more than the oil industry and one fifth of all of the fish landed in the UK being landed in Shetland her enthusiasm for the fishing is well placed.  She is keen to encourage entrepreneurs to develop businesses to take advantage of the fantastic range of local produce on Shetland’s shores and doorstep.
