There was something for everyone at the event: food wise, there were chocolates, cakes, soup, alcohol; there were gifts and food and drink related crafts to be found; and everyone was entertained by the music of Ally Morrison, Liam Slater, Ewan Hutcheson and Amber Thompson.
Mareel played host to this year’s event, which showcased some of the best of the isles' produce: 19 Shetland producers attended, selling a huge variety of goods, from vegan cakes, pies and dips, to fish, meat and mead - and everything in between.
We met people from America, Australia and Germany to name a few, as well as some familiar faces!
We had a few new product launches at the event too. There was the new Up Helly Aa Tomato and Chilli Relish from Shetlandeli , a new beer called Vaelensi from Lerwick Brewery (our featured member this month); Viking Mead's new Heather Honey Mead, "Skald"; and the limited edition Up Helly Aa 2019 gin from Shetland Reel Gin.
The event was much busier than last year and we have received some great feedback from visitors, and producers - some of whom sold out of their products in the first two hours, while some others sold over 500 portions of food.
