The Taste of Shetland Cooking Challenge - Open for Entries

Want to win an exclusive Michelin-starred food experience at Restaurant Martin Wishart?

Then why not follow in the footsteps of Susan Msalila from Aith and Chris Percival from Whiteness by entering the Taste of Shetland Cooking Challenge?

If you love to cook, then this is the competition for you.

The prize is a wonderful foodie weekend in Edinburgh for the winner: return flights for two to Edinburgh; an overnight stay in Porteous' Studio, an architect-designed holiday home in Edinburgh; and a six-course tasting menu with matching wines at Restaurant Martin Wishart with champagne on arrival, coffee and handmade petits fours, as well as a visit to the kitchens.

All you have to do is devise a 3-course meal which uses Shetland produce. This year, we are thinking about food miles so would like as many of the ingredients to come from either Shetland or Scotland, where possible. Extra marks will be given for menus which comprise ingredients that come from close to home! As well as your menu, we also need a short paragraph describing the provenance of your main ingredients and any other information about your choice of menu.

Come on… take part! Just fill in the form below.

Entrants must be over 18 years of age. Semi-finalists will be selected and all entrants notified by Saturday 8 September. Semi-finalists will be invited to come and cook their menu on 22 September at Shetland College, where three finalists will be selected to take their menu to the live final at the Taste of Shetland Festival on 7 October. All entries must be received by midnight on Sunday 2 September 2018.

Many thanks to our sponsors, who make this competition possible -

Enquest, Restaurant Martin Wishart, Porteous Studio, Shetland Times, Shetland College and Loganair.
