Norlande Guest House is a family run award winning business situated in the heart of Lerwick. A warm homely welcome is given to our guests and our rooms range from luxurious large four-poster beds to our smaller yet elegantly styled well-equipped rooms that can accommodate a wide range of guests.

As our customers expect with such a high standard of property, you can enjoy all mod cons in our luxury rooms with coffee machines, small fridges and more facilities to pamper our customers.

We take great pride that 9 out of every 10 customers highly rate our outstanding, rooms, hospitality and warm, homely atmosphere as well as our hamper breakfasts provided in our rooms. We love to add our personal touch by providing our home made jams, fudge and own free-range eggs freshly laid that morning.

About Amanda

Founder and owner of Blyde Tae Bide and Norlande Guest House Amanda Hawick, a Shetland born Entrepreneur of the year award winner, is also a Member of the Tourism Management Institute a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute and a member of the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland.

Her company Blyde Tae Bide has been running for over 20 years now and with her wealth of experience of over 30 years in food and tourism from living internationally and travelling around the world is reflected in her award winning Guest House.

After gaining a Degree in Hospitality management and a Masters Degree in International tourism Management Amanda took on the role of Project Manager to Scottish Enterprise in Aberdeen specialising in food and tourism and events management where she wrote and delivered a portfolio of projects to the public and private sectors.

This enabled her to take Scottish businesses to the areas of excellence in the UK and abroad on food and tourism excellence learning journeys, oversee service achievement awards to hundreds of businesses and manage food excellence conferences and events throughout Aberdeen city and Shire, this allows Amanda to possess exceptional people skills and first class understanding in economic development.

Amanda returned back to Shetland in 2010 and opened her award winning Guest House. She recently joined the Shetland Tourism Association and has just this year become a private tour guide offering bespoke private tours in Shetland among her other business and voluntary remits.

Amanda is a great hostess, has a love for Shetland her homeland and she is a qualified chef and passionate foodie who is a natural people person. She goes that extra mile for all her customers by tuning into all her skills.
