Their main shop and processing unit, in Scalloway, offers a full range of fresh meat prepared daily by their team of dedicated, skilled butchers. The shop also has a well-stocked, licensed mini-market which stocks a wide variety of Shetland products and produce. Since 2014, they have also had a butcher’s shop in Lerwick.
They take great pride in their butchery, and are strong supporters of the local economy. By sourcing and selling as much as possible locally, they not only aim to support the local economy but also to create employment for local people. They source top quality, locally produced lamb and beef year round, and pork when possible, from crofts and farms throughout Shetland.
They prepare their own white, black and fruit puddings by hand. Haggis is made in-house too, with gluten free and vegetarian options available. It’s a great place to buy a piece of Shetland’s ‘national dish’ - Reestit Mutton. Contact them to arrange mail order if you’re based elsewhere.
Every morning they prepare a wide range of cooked products, such as ready meals, steak pies, soups, cooked meats and cheesecakes as well as a vast range of other pies and pastries, sandwiches, filled rolls, salad boxes, baguettes and wraps. They opened a dedicated department and purpose built kitchen for this in 2017. Everything they make is produced to the highest standards, using as much local produce as possible.
In 2017, they won a Gold Scottish Craft Butchers award, for their Lasagne and a Silver for their White Puddings. Both are made with quality local produce.
They supply country shops, restaurants and cafés across Shetland.
