The Cornerstone is right in the heart of Scalloway, Shetland’s ancient capital and arguably its prettiest village. The building dates back to the 1880s, built from local Hildasay granite, it retains its original charm and character. The refurbished café, with an airy modern interior, seats thirty-six.
You can drop into the café during the day for a freshly prepared breakfast, lunch or some of their home baked cakes and treats to perk you up! Relax in an armchair in front of the fire, the ideal place for a coffee and a catch up with friends. If you’re short of time they do takeaways and a great lunch box service too.
Their dishes are all prepared to order and it’s a great place to sample local fare at affordable prices. There is also an evening menu, although booking is advisable. The Cornerstone has a table license so you can enjoy a selection of wines, beers and spirits with your meal too.
You can book the restaurant for private functions or ask the team to cater for your event elsewhere. They can cater for everything from an afternoon tea party to a four-course wedding feast!
Their B&B rooms give you a really lovely base to explore central Shetland. They have five newly refurbished, en-suite rooms. Rates are very reasonable and include a hearty breakfast to set you up for a day of adventuring.
