The guest house has 12 comfortable en-suite rooms, as well as three self-catering chalets in immediate proximity to the main building. All have access to the Valleyfield café. There you will be able to sample their hearty breakfasts, pop in for lunch or afternoon tea. Their Barista coffee machine means you will always get a good coffee whatever time of day it is.
In the café, Marina, Katriona and Matthew serve a varied menu of quality soups, sandwiches, wraps, waffles and specials, all made with locally sourced ingredients and all very reasonably priced. They have also gained quite a reputation for their afternoon teas with homemade cakes, bakes and scones. The Valleyfield is a great option for event catering too, no matter the size of your party.
The cafe is an asset to the community and they are aways up to something, whether it be their special Mother’s day tea boxes delivered to your door, fun Easter activities to keep the bairns busy over the holidays, sweetie bags they make to order, or their shop local Christmas craft market. Keep an eye on their social media to see what’s on and what marvellous cake creations they’ve come up with to celebrate!
The Valleyfield is in the perfect location to explore Shetland’s rugged North Mainland. For travelling workers, it’s handy with Sullom Voe and provides easy access to work sites across North and central Shetland.
