You know video matters. Finding time is the problem.
Most businesses do not lack stories worth telling.
They lack the time to plan a video, get comfortable on camera, film it, and turn it into something worth posting.
You already serve customers, make products, manage staff and keep the business moving.
In other words: you have the story.
Finding time to film it and knowing what to film is the difficult part.
The Digital MOT + Member Spotlight gives you a simple way to get started.
We come to you, capture your business in action and create a short vertical Reel for A Taste of Shetland’s channels.
You receive the footage and photos from the shoot too: so you have a useful bank of real content ready for your own Facebook and Instagram.
What you get
A short member spotlight Reel
A professionally filmed vertical video introducing your business, your people and what makes your offer worth choosing.
The completed Reel will be shared through A Taste of Shetland channels, putting your business in front of our established local audience.
Your own content to reuse
You receive the footage and photographs captured during the shoot.
Use them in your own Reels, Stories, posts, website updates, newsletters or future campaigns—without having to organise another shoot from scratch.
A focused Digital MOT
Get a practical review of:
- Your website
- One social media channel of your choice
You will receive a short, prioritised action report focused on the improvements most likely to make a difference.
Not an overwhelming list of tasks.
Is this for you?
Digital MOT + Member Spotlight is for Taste of Shetland members who want to make it easier for customers to discover, understand and choose their business.
It works particularly well if you:
- Have plenty to show but little time or knowledge to create content
- Have not posted consistently because filming and editing feel like a job in themselves
- Need better material for Facebook, Instagram, Google or your website
- Want an outside perspective on what is and is not working online
- Would benefit from being featured through Taste of Shetland’s channels
Whether you run a producer, bakery, fish business, café, restaurant, accommodation business, shop, drinks brand or food-related service, the spotlight is shaped around what makes your business distinctive.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to be confident on camera?
No. The best videos are usually simple and natural. The aim is to show the real people, place and product behind your business, not to make you perform.
Do I have to provide a script?
No. We will guide the conversation and keep it flowing naturally and will only have suggested shot lists beforehand, with a focus on keeping conversations natural.
Will you manage my social media afterwards?
No. This service provides a finished spotlight Reel, the raw content captured on the day, and focused recommendations. Ongoing social management is not included, but the Social Launch Kit may be a useful next step if you need a clearer posting plan.
Can I ask for a full website review or multiple social platforms?
The Digital MOT is deliberately focused on your website and one social channel so it stays useful, affordable and actionable.
Wider work can be discussed separately if needed.
Who owns the footage and photos?
You will receive the captured footage and photographs to use in promoting your own business. A Taste of Shetland will also use the completed spotlight and selected assets to promote your business and the wider sector.
Ready to tell your story?
