New promotional tools created for Shetland seafood
April 15th 2021 | by Shetland Food and Drink in News
As part of our Seafood Provenance Scheme, Taste of Shetland have created a suite of new digital and print tools to celebrate the isles’ farmed salmon and mussels as well as wild caught fish and shellfish.
Print poster available for purchase.
Last year local producers, processors, restaurants and eateries pledged to promote local seafood and display a specially designed sticker on their premises, on menus, websites and social media platforms.
The print versions of the recipes, map and poster will be available locally as soon as Covid restrictions allow.
Marian Armitage, SFAD Chair, said: "We are keen to see as many folk as possible enjoy, experiment with and promote the wealth of fantastic seafood Shetland has to offer.”

Funding for the project has come from Seafish, with the aim of promoting the use of local seafood in Shetland, with support from Shetland Fishermen, Seafood Shetland, Shetland Shellfish Management Organisation and the Scottish Salmon Producers’ Organisation.
Sheila Keith, of the SFPO, said: “It has been recognised that we can do better at promoting seafood to folk living in Shetland and to the tourists who visit every year. Our rich, productive waters mean some of the best seafood in the world is available to buy. This scheme will make it more visible, whether in restaurants and eateries, shops or suppliers.”
