At Sound, we believe that local is best. We try to provide local produce to customers as much as possible.
Sound Service Station is a large convience store and fuel station situated on Lerwick's South Road and has been established for more than four decades. The business changed hands in March of 2016 to the new owners Jordan and Gemma Thomason. Since then an extensive refurbishment of the premises has been completed, providing customers with a new shopping experience.
At Sound, we have shifted our focus to supplying as large a range of local produce as we can. We are firm believers that local is best and try and provide that to customers whenever possible. We have strong links with local butcher Anderson Butchers, from who we receive fresh meat and pies six days of the week. We also receive fresh bakery goods from local suppliers Sandwick Bakery and Waas Bakery six days a week and from Yell's Da Kitchen Bakery three days a week. Local dairy producer Shetland Farm Dairies is another company that visits six days out of the seven, providing us with dairy produce.
We have ties with other local producers such as the Shetland Fudge Company, Scoop Wholefoods, Bressay Eggs/Tatties and also Tatties from the Ness. We are always speaking to more local businesses about stocking their goods.
Our continous aim is to be able to provide our customers with the best products possible and quality local produce will always be a part of that.
