We are a community-run café offering light lunches, tasty homemade soups and cakes
The Speldiburn Café offers freshly made lunchtime specials and tasty soups, toasties and paninis along with homemade cakes and lovely Bean Shop coffee.
We try to use as much produce from Bressay as we can. Gemma's Eggs and Roadside tatties are both regulars in our menus, and we take herbs and salad from local growers in the summer months.
We also use milk and buttermilk from Shetland Farm Dairies, rolls from Sandwick Baking Company and Waas Bakery's tattie braed and sliced loaves. Shetland lamb and beef from Anderson Butchers and local fish both feature regularly in our hot meals. Shetlandeli onion marmalade will be a regular filling for paninis this summer.
A 20-minute walk from the Bressay ferry and on route to Noss or the local play park, our bright and friendly café is a great stop when visiting Bressay. The Café’s exhibition space showcases work by local and visiting artists and the Speldiburn Good As New Shop is also on site, along with artist studios and a lending library.
We also do event catering - please get in touch for more details.
