Taking the local name for the Northern Lights, Mirrie Dancers Chocolatier is now a well-established chocolatier business producing exquisite handmade and designed Pralines, Truffles, Inclusion Bars and more. From a small spark of an idea, creating a locally-harvested Seaweed Gin Inclusion Bar at a local food fair in 2015, Mirrie Dancers has grown in a very short time. From having their maiden store on Commercial Street in Lerwick, they have proudly opened their second store on Albert Street in Kirkwall, Orkney. One of the aims at Mirrie Dancers is to ensure they use local ingredients wherever possible. From the local gins and whiskies on the islands, to the fruits, honey and dairy products that are produced here. The latest addition to the Mirrie Dancers recipe list is a locally-harvested Sea Salt made fresh from our shores.
Added to this, Mirrie Dancers has a long-standing partnership with Northlink Ferries, supplying 3,000 Pralines per month to the Business and Executive Cabins on board their ships serving the mainland and the islands. Also, their online store is regularly supplying a wide range of products on a global scale, as far reaching as all over Europe, to the US and Canada and South Africa.
Mirrie Dancers also has a presence on the mainland supplying their produce to Hardy's Chocolates in Aberdeen, as well as creating bespoke corporate Pralines for events numbering 500+. To date they have also supplied orders to numerous Weddings on the islands and indeed the Mainland too.
It goes without saying that none of this would have been possible without the tremendous support of the local communities in both Shetland and Orkney. The Mirrie Dancers team continues to go from strength to strength, and continues to play their part in also supporting the local businesses around them.
